"I wanted that feeling of everything blurring together."
- Alexander Wang
We all continue to congratulate Alexander Wang on landing the position as Balenciaga new creative director. He's such a talented, iconic and inspirational being and its safe to say if anyone deserved that position, its him.
Alexander Wang's Pre-Fall 2013 stayed true to the designers exceptional skills with leather. Wang's pieces consisted with cleanly tailored in done gals and jacquards, the suits were almost sober and safe for cool details like zipped-on doubled lapels in black leather. The bags, and backpacks were clean, minimalist chic.
One flocked wool jacket came complete with a black leather panel down one side - "Is it a jacket or a vest?" Wang said. " I wanted that feeling of everything blurring together". Counterbalancing the tailoring were softly draped frocks that had the sporty ease of a sweatshirt, with rolled-up sleeves and artfully rumpled necklines. Here, he said, he was going for a shrugged-on feeling, but the little dresses won't be out of a place in an office setting.
