Mary Haines Fashion Show
I recently watched The Women (2008) - starring Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, Annette Bening, Jada Pinkett Smith etc; i absolutely loved the movie! and most of all, i loved Meg Ryan { as Mary Haines } Fashion Show - if you haven't watched it, its about a wealthy New Yorker { Mary Haines } leaves her cheating husband and bonds with other women at a resort. The movie is really more than I've summarised but anyway, thats not what this post is about. This post is about Mary Haines fashion Show. Mary decides to follow her dreams by being a fashion designer and I fell in love with her design as she showcased them in her fashion show.
The question of who actually designed this pieces for the movie shall remain a mystery to me - which really saddens me as i did a lot of research into the fashion show , but to no avail - so i decided to do the next best thing: Research designers clothing that were similar to Mary Haines designs. Although i couldn't find a lot of clothing to portray Marys pieces, i thought to myself, why should people, especially people who haven't watched the movie, have to miss out from seeing such marvellous pieces from the fashion show thereby, as i am such a lovely person, decided to upload a video of the fashion show - and i was lucky enough to find one yaay!

The fashion designer for this movie and thus also for its fashion show was John Dunn.
ReplyDeleteI just watched it this morning. John Dunn was the costume designer for the movie, but for the runway fashion show, the pieces were designed by Narciso Rodriguez.
